Centro Campesino is glad to announce the opening of its first Worker Center. As part of our strategic plan, Centro Campesino will work to expand its membership and geographic presence in rural Minnesota by establishing a worker center network. This network will be comprised of three workers’ centers to be open in strategic locations across southern Minnesota. Our goal is to provide a space for immigrant workers to find assistance, education, and support as they confront labor and immigrant rights abuses. This center will also increase our capacity to organize immigrant workers as we identify issues and develop campaigns around those issues.

This first center will be open only 20 hours a week. A small office has been provided by a local church supporting our work. This is a great opportunity to expand our work and to reach out to more immigrant workers in southern Minnesota. In the next three years we will be working to open two more centers. Possible locations include Winona and Worthington Minnesota.
