Donor Privacy Policy

Centro Campesino does not copy, reproduce, publicize, announce, distribute, buy or sell the name, personal information or description of a donation to any individual, organization or business. Exceptions shall be those related to legal requirements or requests from funders or grant applications.

Centro Campesino recognizes donors by name and gives a description of the donation only if the donor has given written consent. Recognition is given by magazines, pamphlets, press releases, invitations, event programs, solicitation letters and emails, websites, and our annual report. Any donor who wishes to see examples of donor recognition can request them by contacting the Centro Campesino’s office.

Centro Campesino shall provide a yearly opportunity for donors to determine if they want their names to be shared in the manner previously mentioned. If a donor chooses not to share his/her name in public materials, the name shall not be used and only personnel in charge shall know the name and information of the donor.

Donors that wish not to be contacted for donations can notify members of the personnel. Centro Campesino shall remove the donor contact information from the database immediately and all contact shall be terminated. These donors will not receive any letters, emails, phone calls or any other promotional or solicitation materials.

A copy of our policy shall be sent to any donor upon request. Our policy is also available on the Centro Campesino website. All donation records shall be maintained in a safe and secure place at Centro Campesino according to the document retention policy.

The photograph of any donor shall not be used at any time without the expressed written consent of the donor. If the donor is a minor, the expressed written consent of the parents or guardian must be obtained.

Any person soliciting funds for Centro Campesino must identify his/herself as an employee of Centro Campesino, give his/her name, title/position, and contact information. If the person soliciting funds for the organization is not employed by or is not a volunteer of Centro Campesino, he/she must indentify his/herself as a professional fundraiser and must provide the name and address of his/her employer or group that contracted him/her, at the request of the donor.

If the organization participates in a fundraising campaign for a joint cause, the organization shall keep information of the amount to be donated to Centro Campesino as part of the event. This information will be available to donors so that they are aware of what portion of their contribution will be received by Centro Campesino.
