16 Solutions that Deliver Equity and Excellence in Education
Centro Campesino is proud to announce the release of a new policy paper highlighting 16 powerful and proven solutions that if implemented could drastically improve the education of students of color in Minnesota. Centro Campesino is a co-releaser of this policy paper in collaboration with 11 other organizations convened by the Organizing Apprenticeship Project through the Education Equity Organizing Collaborative. The racial disparities in our education system are clear and we present a proactive approach that looks at ways to reduce and eliminate the disparities in our system. Please take some time to contribute to the work of Centro Campesino and the EEOC coalition convened by OAP.

Educational Equity Campaign
Minnesota has one of the worst achievement gaps in the country. Students of color don’t perform as well as their white counterparts. For instance, only 41% of Latino students graduate from college. In order to solve this problem it is important that as a society we resolve the racial disparities that cause these iniquities. This is why Centro Campesino is working with other organizations in the state through the Education Equity Organizing Collaborative. This Collaborative, which now includes 14 multiracial organizations, brings parents, youth and community together to learn, envision and create strategies for closing the academic achievement gap for students of color.
