Justice for Workers
Immigrant workers are the most vulnerable section of our labor force. Often they are exploited, mistreated and abused. Scenarios related to labor violations, discriminations, abuse and modern day slavery are happening in our local communities. Centro Campesino organizes immigrant workers to fight for better working and living conditions. We accomplish our goal through:
1) Education: We conduct workshops and one on-one with immigrant workers to educate them about their rights and to identify common self-interests and issues.
2) Policy Reform: We advocate and organize in favor of progressive policies that will increase labor protections for immigrant workers.
3) Direct Action: We represent and organize immigrant workers that have been abused and exploited at work. We organize direct actions against employers abusing workers’ rights.
