Over 500 members and allies from the Austin community showed up to celebrate the opening of our new office in Austin. Members of Centro Campesino in Austin organized a committee that worked for weeks trying to organize this great event. Centro Campesino reinforces its mission and its constant effort to develop the leadership potential of our members in the different communities where we work.
Austin is a town full of inspiring powerful members that are committed to community organizing as a way to strengthen the community and bring about positive changes. Centro Campesino opens a new branch in Austin starting with a small office downtown.
Along with our office we will be bringing all the resources and services that the organization provides. Health promoters and tobacco promoters will be working intensively to build a bridge between the community and access to health. We will be organizing more intensively around immigration reform, justice for workers and the leadership development of our youth.
